Forme Projex are transforming the built form fronting Hurtle Square with the development of three multi storey residential flat buildings overlooking the Square. MasterPlan SA Pty Ltd was engaged by Forme Projex to assist with the preparation of development applications for the redevelopment of three separate sites fronting Hurtle Square, resulting in the construction of three residential flat buildings with associated on-site car parking.
Their first development at 3-7 Hurtle Square in the north western corner of the square, accommodates 31 dwellings over 7 storeys with car parking at the ground floor. The building includes a mix of one bedroom loft apartments at ground floor, two bedroom and three bedroom apartments at the upper levels. Forme Projex incorporate car stackers to maximise on site car parking in an efficient manner.
Their second development at 34-40 Hurtle Square located on the north eastern corner of Halifax Street and Hurtle Square is disposed in two buildings. An eight storey building fronting Hurtle Square accommodating a mix of 52 one, two and three bedroom dwellings and a five storey building fronting Halifax Street, with two commercial tenancies at the ground floor and 16 one bedroom apartments at the upper levels. Dedicated on site bicycle storage at the ground level and car parking in stackers meet the demands of purchasers for the apartments.
Forme Projex’s third development at 42-48 Hurtle Square on the south eastern corner of Halifax Street and Hurtle Square completes the framing of the Gateway to the square from Halifax Street. Exhibiting a height of 9 storeys, the building incorporates a commercial tenancy on the Hurtle Square frontage of the ground floor, a mix of 52, one, two and three bedroom dwellings at the upper levels and on site car parking in stackers accessed from the Harriet street at the rear of the site. Across the three developments Forme Projex are delivering 151 dwellings in a range of variety of accommodation to meet the different social and economic needs of residents.
MasterPlan, together with the consultant team of Locus Architecture, Bestec Engineers, Cirque Traffic Engineers and TECON Building Surveyors worked closely with Forme Projex to attain the necessary approvals from both the Adelaide City Council and Development Assessment Commission respectively for these developments, including collaboration with the Office of Design and Architecture SA.
