Description:
MasterPlan was engaged by Southern Launch to provide advice in respect of a Proof of Concept Campaign, involving the launch of up to three small rockets, from a site at Koonibba, located northwest of Ceduna, South Australia.
The Proof of Concept Campaign represented the first private sector space launch in Australia and showcased the ability of Southern Launch to assume a leadership role in the Australian space industry.
MasterPlan assisted Southern Launch in the development of the campaign, which through our investigations was ultimately determined to not require approval under the Development Act, 1993 and the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act, 2016.
MasterPlan also provided advice to Southern Launch in respect of their obligations under other legislation including the Environment Protection Act, 1993 and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, 1999 (Cth).
