Part of the G’day Group network, Discovery Parks operates more than 300 holiday parks across Australia. MasterPlan has supported Discovery Parks since 2012, including ongoing work at the 4.2-hectare Townsville site on University Road.

MasterPlan assisted with development applications to Townsville City Council to facilitate expansion of the park’s tourist accommodation offering. Approval granted in 2021 enabled a major upgrade, including 40 new two-bedroom cabins, a manager’s residence, camp kitchen, barbecue shelter, amenities block, and internal access infrastructure.

A subsequent approval in 2025 refined the scheme, replacing several previously approved cabins with 18 new two-bedroom cabins.

MasterPlan managed the planning process from pre-lodgement through to approval, including State referrals, public notification, and coordination of specialist inputs. These approvals have supported the continued growth and modernisation of the park.
