Description:

MasterPlan was selected as part of the SkyCity Adelaide Casino team to undertake major upgrades of the existing casino in the historic Adelaide Railway Station and create a new entertainment and hotel facility on State Government land immediately north of the Railway Station. MasterPlan was responsible for strategic inputs and the Planning Approvals processes. 

A team of experts was engaged to investigate all aspects of development due to the historic and public complexities of the project. 

This was a critical element in the redevelopment of the Festival Plaza and enhancement of the Riverbank Precinct. The new entertainment facility respects the varied heritage characteristics of the Railway Station, Festival Centre and the Festival Plaza whilst sitting comfortably as a modern, vibrant, and inspirational city development. 

The historic and public context within which these entertainment facilities were created, was a constant consideration during the process. 

Located at a crossroad of activity following the outstanding success of the Adelaide Oval and the footbridge, the development forms a critical element in the redevelopment of the Festival Plaza and creates a significant feature of the Riverbank Precinct.
