Advanced approvals for a mixed-use redevelopment in Port Adelaide, supporting commercial activity and contributing to precinct revitalisation.

MasterPlan was engaged by the Precision Group to evaluate the proposed redevelopment of the shopping centre at 200 Commercial Road, Port Adelaide. Following extensive consultation and analysis, a new plan was developed to ensure pedestrian connections and design outcomes were seamlessly integrated with the surrounding area.

The redevelopment included partial demolition of the existing shopping centre and ancillary structures, and the construction of new retail and commercial spaces, a food court, mall, entranceways, canopies, service lane, loading docks, and associated car parking.

Port Adelaide’s transformation in recent years is linked to an anticipated increase in housing and infrastructure spending, as well as the significant shipbuilding projects. The enhanced centre is expected to attract 3.5 million customers annually, supporting 160 full-time jobs on site.

MasterPlan played a crucial role in the project design and delivery team throughout the complex approval process. The development application was assessed by the State Commission Assessment Panel and involved consultation with the Office of Design and Architecture SA and the Port Adelaide Enfield Council.

The Plaza has become a vibrant and significant retail focal point for the local community.
