Youth Trade Training Facility Yarrawonga, NT

Location:

Youth Trade Training Facility in Yarrawonga, Northern Territory

Client:

The Northern Territory Government

Summary:

MasterPlan undertook the task of preparing a Development Application for a youth trade training facility located on Lot 8673 (41) McCourt Road, within the Town of Palmerston. To meet the project's ambitious timeline, MasterPlan collaborated with the local architectural firm Gabbert Design to ensure the successful attainment of planning approval.

Challenge and Solution:

Situated within the commercial and industrial area of Yarrawonga, the site falls under Zone SC (Service Commercial) of the NT Planning Scheme. The proposed land use for the facility was classified as an education establishment, which is a discretionary use within this zone and necessitated a development permit.

MasterPlan faced the challenge of navigating the complex regulatory landscape and meeting strict timelines. To overcome this, they partnered with Gabbert Design to combine their expertise, ensuring a comprehensive and well-prepared Development Application.

Key Results:

The completed Development Application successfully secured approval in April 2020. This achievement marked a significant milestone, as it allowed the Northern Territory Government to continue providing essential training programs across various trades, serving a diverse range of sectors and contributing to the region's educational and economic development.
